The US Presidential elections are nearing. The esteemed readers of my website must not have forgotten the predictions made in April this year regarding the Presidential hopefuls. At that time there were three candidates, there was a clear Republican candidate John S McCain to fight the election and there were two powerful Democrats. Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama were competing amongst themselves to see as to who would be the Democrats’ choice. We were clear at that time and had predicted that Hilary Clinton would lose and Barack Obama would have an edge.

Now the equation has changed and the Presidential hopefuls of both the parties have selected their running mate for Vice President’s post. With this development it becomes prudent and makes absolute astrological sense to study and compare the horoscopes of Sarah Palin and Joe Biden along with those of John McCain and Barack Obama to know and predict what is in store for them in the forthcoming elections.

John S McCain

Date of Birth – August 29, 1936; Time of birth – 09.00 Hrs; Place of birth – Cocosolo (Panama)

John McCain was born when Virgo ascendant was rising on the eastern horizon and the planetary placement was as such: Mercury – Virgo, Jupiter – Scorpio, Rahu – Sagittarius, Moon – Capricorn, Saturn – Aquarius, Uranus – Aries, Ketu – Gemini, Mars, Pluto – Cancer and Sun, Venus, Neptune in Leo.

Panch Mahapurush Rajayoga

At the time of McCain’s birth Virgo ascendant was rising on the eastern horizon and lord of lagna is well placed in the lagna itself. The placement of Mercury has given rise to a powerful rajayoga called “Bhadra”. This rajayoga comes under the category of “Panch Mahapurush Rajayoga” which promises great success in life.

Great Fighter

Placement of Jupiter in the 3^rd house is very encouraging. This house deals with prowess and we all know that John McCain was a great fighter throughout his life. As a matter of fact he comes from a family of fighters. Rahu occupies the 4^th house and Ketu is placed in the 10^th. This placement of planets gives good results to the native as far as career is concerned.

Difficulty in final competition

Moon has occupied the 5^th house, the house of creativity which denotes good growth in life. Saturn has occupied the 6^th house which is good. Sun and Venus are placed in the 12^th house which is alright. All these planets are involved in a mutual aspect with mixed results. Since this house also deals with competition and indicates initial success but later on negativity takes over. Debilitated Mars has occupied the 11^th house which by and large is alright.

Mahadasa results

In his chart Saturn’s mahadasa is at its fag end. This dasa will come to end in April 2009. At present Saturn Jupiter are in operation. Both the planets are well aligned from each other but dasa is at its fag end. As per astrology if dasa is ending it does not give great results. Therefore we assume that John McCain will go down fighting the US Presidential election 2008.

Sarah Palin

Date of birth – February 11, 1964; Time of birth – midnight; Place of birth – Sandpoint, Idaho, USA

At the time of her birth Libra ascendant (lagna) was rising on the eastern horizon and the planetary configuration was as such: Neptune – Libra, Ketu – Sagittarius, Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury – Capricorn, Saturn – Aquarius, Jupiter, Venus – Pisces, Rahu – Gemini and Uranus, Pluto in Leo.

Governor of Alaska and running mate of the Republican candidate for President Sarah Palin has added life and glamour and energy to the campaign of John McCain. Sarah Palin is a very strong lady. In her younger days she was an athlete as well as a beauty queen. She is a potent mix of beauty and brains and even had Barack Obama on the back foot for a bit and he too had to re strategize. Her record speaks of her being a good administrator and known for her policy changes.

Neech Bhang Rajayoga

In her chart Neech Bhang Rajayoga (cancellation of debiliation) Rajayoga is present. As a matter of fact this Neech Bhang Rajayoga is present in the Navamsha chart. According to classical astrology normally Neech Bhang Rajayoga are studied in the main kundli but when this Rajayoga is present in Navamsha then it is more effective than the basic kundli (chart) Rajayoga present in Navamsha chart denotes a subtle and deep rooted personality of an individual. This Yoga indicates that she is intelligent and knows how to use her intelligence at the appropriate time. Sometimes her critics and detractors may find many objections in her style but apparently they cannot find any reason to bog her down. She knows this advantage and uses it discreetly from time to time. Perhaps that’s the reason she used her veto power on two occasions, as Governor of Alaska.

In her chart Jupiter – Mercury are in operation till December 6, 2008. Jupiter has occupied the 6^th house along with Venus and both are good. Rahu is placed in the 9^th house. Apparently all the planets are very good, perhaps that’s the reason she has been chosen as running mate which has elevated her status and given her worldwide coverage and publicity. In Navamsha chart Jupiter is debilitated but not that weak because of the association of the Moon. Mercury involved in Neech Bhang Rajayoga does gain a lot of strength but Rahu is terribly weak. By December results will be out for the President and Rahu will be predominating and does not assure her of the Vice President’s post.

Her chart is definitely strong and adds a lot of weight to the John McCain campaign but does not help him to win the seat.

Barack Obama

Date of birth – August 4, 1961, Time of birth 13.06 hrs; Place of birth – Honululu – Hawaii, USA

At the time of Barack Obama’s birth Libra lagna was rising on the eastern horizon and planetary configuration is as such: Neptune – Libra, Saturn, Jupiter – Capricorn, Ketu – Aquarius, Moon – Taurus, Venus – Gemini, Sun, Mercury – Cancer and Mars, Rahu, Uranus, Pluto in Leo.

Head of State

The lord of lagna is beautifully placed in the 9^th house which represents luck. This placement of planets promises that one could be head of State, if other planets contribute the same way as lagna lord has projected on the chart.

Buddhaditya Rajayoga

Due to the placement of Sun and Mercury in the 10^th house a powerful “Buddhaditya Rajayoga” has taken place. This rajayoga makes the person bold, intelligent, a tactician and foresighted too. Saturn and Jupiter are placed in the 4^th house. Both these planets are involved in a mutual aspect with Sun and Mercury. This phenomenon indicates that success will not come easily to Obama and he has to fight tooth and nail till the end.

Fulfillment of Cherished Goal

Placement of Mars and Rahu in the 11^th house is very good. This house indicates huge gains and fulfillment of long cherished desires. This house also indicates friends and well wishers across the globe in the coming years.

Placement of Moon in the 8^th house gives mixed results/ Being the lord of 10^th i.e. position (karma), the placement of Moon is detrimental to an extent in getting the desired results. Nothing comes easily and doubt and fear exists till the last count.

Mahadasa Results

In his chart major period of Jupiter will continue for many more years. Jupiter – Venus continued till 10^th of August 2008, Jupiter has occupied the 4^th house and Venus is placed in the 9^th. Independently both the planets are very strong in the chart but wrongly aligned with each other. Due to this very reason Obama won over his party rival Hilary Clinton. His good period of Jupiter – Sun will begin from August 2008 for the next one year. Both are beautifully placed in the chart which clearly indicates that he will be the winner.

Joe Biden

Date of birth – November 20, 1942; Time of birth – 00.00 Hrs, Place of birth – Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA

At the time of his birth Leo Lagna was rising on the eastern horizon and the planetary configuration is such as: Rahu – Leo, Neptune – Virgo, Mars, Mercury – Libra, Sun, Venus – Scorpio, Ketu – Aquarius, Moon – Aries, Saturn, Uranus – Taurus and Jupiter, Pluto in Cancer.

Joe Biden unsuccessfully sought the Democratic Presidential nomination in 1988 and in 2008; both times dropping out early in the process. Biden was quite careful on both occasions as he withdrew in favour of the winning candidate. Perhaps his judicial background warned him not to fight a case independently, something which others can easily win for you.

Joe Biden was born when Leo lagna was rising – Rahu is placed in it. This placement of Rahu is good and gives him an insight into the upcoming events in advance. Lord of lagna Sun is quite strong in the 4^th house along with Venus. This placement of Sun indicates that the person can get the number two position easily.

In his chart Rahu - Mars are in operation till January 2009 then Jupiter will take over for longer. In his chart Mars occupies 3^rd house along with Venus and this is very good for the person in question. Rahu – Mars are well aligned in this chart. Mars in the 3^rd house promises huge gains in status therefore his stars add to Barack Obama’s luck at this very important time.

We have no doubt in our mind that the Barack Obama – Joe Biden combination will lead the USA for the next four years.
