The art of writing was not developed till late by Man because he was quite comfortable by the thought of the art technique which was widely used till the time of the Vedas. Although ancient Man was full of knowledge and wisdom he would communicate this through dialogue. An enlightened Guru would wait for an eligible disciple for years after achieving eternal knowledge. The same way the true seeker was in search of a competent Guru who could teach him all the techniques and knowledge including secret knowledge. Pre –Vedic era was known for Shravan – what was heard – and Shruti – what one remembers. Knowledge was disseminated in this manner.
When Man accumulated a lot of knowledge, what better way than to pen down this knowledge and the Vedas, the first such documentation, came into being. Vedas was a way of life and was replete with knowledge including agriculture, administration, commerce, business etc. There was a big question how to understand this without knowing the celestial bodies. Vedas gave due importance to the celestial bodies, nakshatras and calculated the length of the day, length of night, length of the year and so on and so forth. Vedas also declared astrology as an eye through which Vedas could be understood. However we find astrology in an abstract form in the Vedas. Later on this science was developed in a proper manner The creator Brahma taught astrology to Narad ( Manas putra) and Narad taught Shounak who in turn taught this to Prashar. Maitraiye another seeker was well versed in many branches of knowledge including Mathematics. There was a dialogue between Parashar and Maitraiye and there developed many texts including ‘Prashar hora’ and many more through their dialogue. Prashar imagined the zodiac in 360° which was divided into 12 parts and was given the name of rashies or signs. We have simplified the horoscope for one and all and here is our interpretation of the horoscope.
Horoscope is made of 12 houses as can been seen in the picture and each house is defines the relationship of Man and the world in which he lives. The 1st house shows Self; 2nd house towards the left which is just 30° away from the Self denotes family and earned income. On the right side is the 12th house which is almost 330° away from the1st house. This house denotes expenditure, wastage and enjoyment. Man is brought into this world by the Family and his foremost job in this world is to earn. Man earns and does everything for the Family throughout his life and whatever he earns he spends, wastes for enjoyment.
The 3rd house denotes Prowess and communication skills. Opposite to the 3rd house is the 11th house which denotes huge gains friendships and aspirations. The fulfillment of Man’s aspiration is proportionate to his efforts. Friendship or relationships happens through your efforts and prowess – no less or no more. You cannot be a friend to everybody and neither does everyone want to make you a friend.
The next opposite pair of houses are 4th and 10th. The 4th one shows Mother, comfort and 10th house indicates Father and your Karma. The 4th house is close to Self and just 60° away from the 1st house. All of us are indebted to our Mother and want to have the maximum comfort in this life. Mother poses a silent challenge for the Child who wants to do the maximum for his/ her Mother. Despite his best efforts he remains indebted to his Mother. At the same time Mother never demands but one wants to do the maximum for their Mother. On the contrary Father demands everything and poses an apparent challenge to his child. This house also denotes Karma. Every child accepts the challenge of the Father and wants to do better than him in life. This house is 270° away from Self therefore the challenges become bigger and bigger.
The next very important house is the 7th which is opposite to the Self. 7th house denotes Spouse and day to day efforts. This is 180° away from Self, which means if you are North Pole then the 7th house is the South Pole. There is a lot of attraction between opposites which is why your spouse attracts you the most. Two opposite poles never meet but in human relationships two different people live together for their life. If we collect the data of this house then we can understand how much happiness they derive from each other. Personal experience can add on to the world’s databank.
Next opposite pair are the 5th and 9th. The 5th house indicates creation and progeny. The 9th house denotes destiny and accumulated karma – good or bad. Mans creation and his children are directly proportionate to his destiny and accumulated karma.
The next and the last pair of houses are extremely important because this pair defines all of us ultimately. The 6th house indicated disease, obstacles, competition and challenges to life. 8th house denotes death, miseries, disabilities, confinement and hidden secret knowledge.
The basic horoscope indicates a static state of all of us and the planets placed in it indicates the dynamism of life.
If the Sun is strong in the chart then one enjoys a good relationship with the Father, authorities and enjoys honour and respect of one and all. The person would be energetic, takes up challenges and enjoys a strong reputation. If the Sun is weak then one faces difficulties and does not get along with authorities and Father.
Moon denotes imagination, thinking, creativity, feeling, compassion. An afflicted Moon gives worries, disturbances, frustration, tension, disappointment, troubled relationships and mental problems.
Mercury denotes reasoning, logic and rational approach and communication skills. When Mercury is strong one excels in these areas and one can excel in his desired field. A negative Mercury denotes worries, lack of judgment, logical fallacy, confusion, lack of discrimination and mental problems.
Venus stands for beauty, aesthetics, fashion, creative fields etc. A good Venus helps artists and those with artistic bent of mind. On the contrary a negative Venus gives an unhappy married / relationship life, struggle in creative fields, and one is unable to express oneself.
Mars denotes strength, force, ruthlessness, dynamism and action orientation and a negative Mars could result in the wrong use of force and power and even leads to fights and terror.
A well placed Saturn / Shani denotes a disciplined, well organized and well thought out plans and spiritual orientation. A negative Saturn makes life miserable, the person is lazy undisciplined, unsystematic and totally disorganized.
A powerful Jupiter gives you knowledge, wisdom and the art of being just, understanding of religion. With a weak Jupiter a man struggles and knowledge becomes a burden and an obstacle and a person could be a religious fanatic.
A good Rahu gives one a piercing judgment of people and situations, one can see through the walls and hit out at his target with maximum ease. A negative Rahu gives fears, phobia, doubts, self doubts, lack of judgment, confusion.
A positive Ketu stands for intuitive wisdom and bestows the person with great insight and highly developed intuition. A negative Ketu gives confusion, illusion, delusion.
If the planets coordinate with the houses and are perfectly interconnected themselves then one can be free from the bondage of karma and stars collectively and unite with the cosmos. This phenomenon takes place rarely but when it does then person becomes Bulle shah, Kabir, Nanak and Buddha.
